This management qualification is suitable for first line managers who are leading larger teams, or a number of teams and have some responsibility for the recruitment and development of personnel. It leads to the Diploma in First Line Management awarded by the Chartered Management Institute. Achieving this qualification will not only boost performance but also enhance career prospects.

Course content:

Equivalent to the former Certificate in Management this sought after management qualification consists of seven units of learning, five of which are mandatory core units. The remaining two units are a free choice to suit your own job role. Core unit topics include:

• planning and managing the work,
• creating effective working relationships
• developing great management skills
• identifying resource requirements, creating and monitoring resource plans,
• identifying stakeholders and their needs
• continuous improvement
• understanding change
• managing and communicating information
• developing individuals and teams
• managing performance reviews

Core units: 3001, 3002, 3003, 3004, 3005

Option units: Free choice from remaining units - 2 required

Assessment:

This management qualification consists of seven units of learning. In order to achieve the Diploma in First Line Management participants must successfully complete a written work-based assignment for each unit of around 1500-2000 words.
